In place of the usual straight-walled cone or a flared shape, the diaphragm traces one curve: it keeps the bass efficiency of the first and the midrange control of the second. The outcome is more uniform dispersion and a step-free transition to the tweeter, with behaviour that is less critical of distance from the walls. The magnet system is generous, because this geometry wants a strong motor, and it helps to hold harmonic distortion down.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 22 mm tweeter is derived from the one in the Concept series. It is a sealed unit, fixed to the front panel through a mounting that isolates it from vibration, so that pressure inside the cabinet and the movement of the mid\/bass cone do not modulate its output. A vented rear chamber lowers distortion and lets the crossover sit at 2.6 kHz. Inside, P2P (Point to Point) braces tie together the areas of the panels most inclined to vibrate, cutting low-frequency reverberation to the benefit of the soundstage.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe stated figures are 60 Hz-30 kHz at -6 dB, 87 dB sensitivity and 6 ohms nominal with a 3.7 ohm minimum, values suited to amplifiers of 25 to 90 W. Each speaker measures 27.9 x 17.5 x 28.1 cm and weighs 5.5 kg; grilles and foam bungs are included. The driver surrounds carry a satin metallic finish.
