Description Naim NAP 300 DR
The NAP 300 power amplifier incorporates all the improvements of its siblings and adopts its older brother's radical two-chassis configuration NAP 500: one cabinet for the amplifier circuit and another – 300 PS – for the power components. It also has the same Naim NA009 transistors as the 500 series.
The NAP 300 offers 90W per channel into 8 ohms and manages to extend the output into 2 ohms without impacting performance. The result is greater purity of tone and immense power.
New Statement Technology
Our very high amplification system statement it took ten years of work. The research and development project has gathered all our knowledge and experience, leading us to several technological innovations. We have recently introduced two new technologies stemming from the Statement design into our range of power amplifiers.
The NAP 300 is now equipped with the new NA009 transistors introduced in the Statement. This key component, which took more than a year to develop, was created in collaboration with a semi-conductor specialist to achieve the best possible sound quality. The 300 also includes Naim Audio DR (Discrete Regulator) technology used in the Statement to deliver the smooth and stable power supply we know is critical for audio electronics to bring music to life.
These two new technologies, combined with other minor improvements to the layout and components, lead the NAP 300 DR to produce even more of the musical pitch, rhythm and tempo that made the original products so popular.
- 90W per channel into 8 ohms; manages to extend the output into 2 ohms without impacting performance
- The two-chassis configuration (300 PS power included) minimizes electromagnetic interference
- Advanced Naim 007 output transistors used in the NAP 500
The NAP 300 offers immense power without sacrificing speed or agility and delivering extremely high levels of detail and musicality.
Like the top of the range NAP 500, the NAP 300 is a two chassis stereo amplifier, one for the audio amplifier and the other for the power supply. Improved grounding results in an all-new circuit topology built on top of a high-quality, anti-resonance audio motherboard. The NAP 300 uses the same advanced Naim 007 output transistors used in the NAP 500. These wonderful components deliver up to 80 Amps and 350 Watts, eliminating the need to run a pair of transistors in parallel (which always have a negative effect on tone). Other NA009 transistors are also used in the fully regulated power supply, ensuring the best performance.
A variable speed, virtually silent cooling fan is mounted on a large internal heat sink and provides long term stability and the ability to produce a massive 500VA transient. The NAP 300 is stable under any load and can drive a 2 Ohm load for long periods.
