Its shape pays tribute to the Contour 1.8: a classic rectangular cabinet, veneered in American walnut, with panels chosen by eye two by two so that the grain of each pair looks alike. Under the wood, however, drivers and electronics belong to the current generation.

The two woofers derive from those of the Evidence Platinum and work in parallel: the upper one reproduces midrange and bass, the lower one bass only. For this layout the crossover was designed from scratch, with capacitors and wiring by Mundorf, Duelund and Van den Hul. At the top sits the Esotar 3 tweeter. The reflex ports are flared at both ends and the cabinet stands on a heavy cast-iron base.

Technical features

Two-and-a-half-way bass reflex design, ports at the rear

28 mm Esotar 3 tweeter

Two woofers with 18 cm MSP cone

Crossover point at 3,400 Hz, first- and second-order filters

Sensitivity 90 dB (2.83 V/1 m), nominal impedance 4 Ohm

Response from 42 Hz to 29 kHz within 3 dB

IEC power handling of 300 W

208 x 995 x 345 mm (W x H x D), 32.5 kg

Available versions

Sold as a pair, in a single finish.
