chord-2yu
Chord 2yu

Digital interface for the Chord 2go

Chord 2yu is a digital interface that connects directly to the Chord 2go streamer and forms with it a network bridge for use with a DAC, a DAC-equipped device or the Hugo M Scaler. It adds four digital outputs to the 2go: TOSLINK optical, RCA coaxial, BNC and USB Type-A.

The 2yu does not work on its own: to receive music and act as a transport or audio interface it requires a connection to a 2go, through which its Micro-USB power also passes. According to the manufacturer the pair also suits installers looking for a discreet Roon solution: wired into an Ethernet port it brings streaming to the system in any room.

Outputs, formats and controls

The USB Type-A output reaches 768 kHz PCM and DSD256; the two coaxial outputs, BNC and RCA, both 75 Ω, reach 384 kHz and DSD64, the optical 192 kHz and DSD64. An integrated sample rate converter automatically downsamples when the track exceeds what the chosen output can handle.

Chord states a processing power of 2,000 MIPS (million instructions per second) and a low-jitter audio phase lock loop. Like the 2go, the 2yu is handmade in the UK from aircraft-grade aluminium. Four polychromatic control spheres, like those of the Hugo 2, govern output selection, power, mute and dim functions.

Technical data

Compatibility: requires a Chord 2go.

USB Type-A output: PCM from 44.1 to 768 kHz, DSD256.

BNC coaxial output (75 Ω): PCM from 44.1 to 384 kHz, DSD64.

RCA coaxial output (75 Ω): PCM from 44.1 to 384 kHz, DSD64.

TOSLINK optical output: PCM from 44.1 to 192 kHz, DSD64.

Sample rate converter: integrated, with automatic downsampling.

Processing power: 2,000 MIPS.

Power: Micro-USB through the 2go, at least 5 V and 1 A.

Dimensions with the 2go: 115 × 100 × 22 mm.

Weight with the 2go: 361 g.

Finishes: black, silver.

Included: drawstring bag, 5 V 2 A Micro-USB power supply, USB Type-A to USB Type-B cable, BNC to BNC cable, optical cable.
